Biography

Lyn began her professional career at age 12, when she started selling portraits "from life" of horses and dogs. In 1983, she began self-publishing limited edition prints of her pen and ink drawings and by 1994 had created over six hundred different prints that could be found in collections worldwide.

In 1990 Lyn began to explore new subject matter...wildlife, plein air landscapes and the cowboy culture of the American West. Since then her paintings have won over 80 awards across the country, including Best in Show three years in a row at the Ward Museum Show. Her work has been exhibited at the Tucson Museum of Art, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Bennington Center for the Arts, the West Valley Art Museum, the Hiram Blauveldt Art Museum and the Phippen Museum. Lyn's work is in the permanent collections of the Worrel Museum and the Bennington Center for the Arts.

Other notable exhibitions that have included her work...Arts for the Parks Top 100, "Wild in de Natuur" (Enschede, Netherland) and the Society of Animal Artists' Annual Shows. In 2005 Lyn was "Artist of the Year" at the Fallbrook Art nad Nature Show in California and she was "Artist of the Year" at the Southern Wildlife Festival in Alabama in 1999.

Lyn's work is based exclusively on her personal experience. She spends countless hours in the field plein air painting, exploring the wilderness and cowboy country that inspires her work and observing, sketching and photographing her subjects in their natural habitat.
